VCA Westbury Veterinary Clinic is hiring a driven and detail-focused Veterinary Technician or Assistant for one of our fast growing animal hospitals in Summerville, SC. This is a full time opportunity, some weekend availability is required.

Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the veterinary technician / Assistant is to work closely with our veterinarians to provide the highest quality medical care, while giving our clients an exceptional care experience. We strive to go above and beyond for every patient and client that walks through the door. Being able to prioritize, multitask, and complete tasks accurately and efficiently will be key to succeeding in this position. Compassion and empathy are vital to our mission, and the veterinary technicians/Assistants play one of the most important roles in providing that to our patients and clients. Our ideal candidate will be family-oriented, friendly, communicative, hardworking, and share our passion of caring for animals and their owners.

Skills and Basic Qualifications: • 1 - 5+ years veterinary technician/Assistant experience (certification/licensure preferred, but not required) • Blood draws and IV catheter placement • Anesthetic monitoring • Dental scaling, polishing and radiography • Digital radiology techniques • Medical documentation • Animal Restraint • Laboratory procedures • Familiarity with commonly used medications • High energy, friendly, and driven to be successful • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Demonstrates excellent time and task management • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients • Hands on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality • Team player who can work effectively in a fast growing, dynamic environment
