Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Occupational Therapist - Mary Black in Spartanburg, South Carolina
The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients by referral. He/she plans treatment programs and performs therapy to restore function, prevent disability, and maximize the potential and quality of life following disease, injury or surgery. The Occupational Therapist completes reassessments according to regulatory requirements. He/she may delegate treatments to COTAs and performs re-evaluations and supervisory visits per state practice act. He/she appropriately modifies treatment plans and procedures and uses appropriate communication techniques to achieve optimal results. He/she may supervise COTAs, Rehab Techs, and students. He/she participates in community presentations, staff education, and other departmental activities as requested by the supervisor, manager or director.
Our 207 bed, acute care hospital offers a wide range of services and is part of an organization with 6 acute care facilities, over 9,000 team members and 400 volunteers. Mary Black has a CARF Accredited Inpatient Rehab unit is ranked in the top 10% of Rehabs in the US. It has 18 beds and works with hip fractures, amputations, Parkinson’s, MS, multi-trauma, pelvic fractures, stroke cases, etc. Our average patient length of stay is 11/12 days and our unit utilizes latest technology such as Omnicell, Epic, and Mindray (for vitals), allowing our team to provide the best care possible to our patients.

Education
- BS in Occupational Therapy
License/Registration/Certifications
CPR-AHA BLS
SC OT License
Registered with NBCOT
