Position Summary
An Occupational Health RN - Staff assists/works with the Team Leader in the provision of on-site occupational health services at a company/industry through SRHS’ Nurse-At-Work Program. The OHN collaborates with workers, employers, and other professionals to: identify health needs; prioritize interventions; develop and implement interventions and programs; and evaluate care and service delivery. The practice focuses on promotion, protection and restoration of workers’ health within the context of a safe and healthy work environment. The foundation for occupational health nursing practice is research-based with an emphasis on optimizing health, preventing illness and injury and reducing health hazards.
Minimum Requirements
Education
· Active License as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina
Experience
· Occupational Health experience or Adult Med/Surg, CCU or ER experience
License/Registration/Certifications
· Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina
Preferred Requirements
Preferred Education
· Bachelor’s degree in nursing
Preferred Experience
· Occupational Health or Emergency Department
Preferred License/Registration/Certifications
Core Job Responsibilities
· Adhere to all SRHS Standards of Behavior and policies
· Perform exams needed for surveillance programs to include hearing tests, pulmonary function tests, vision tests, drug/alcohol testing and others as needed
· Perform proficient phlebotomy skills
· Document and maintain patient charts either electronically or manually
· Maintain all control logs to include refrigerator temperature, point of care testing controls, calibrations of instruments
· Evaluate and treat work-related injuries
· Provides excellent customer service to contracted client, patients, and others involved in the care and treatment of the injured worker
· Keep all emergency supplies stocked and up to date
· Assist with case management of injured worker
· Provide health education and evaluate personal illness within RN scope
· Provide emergency treatment and stabilization for injured worker’s
· Provide emergency stabilization for non-work related injuries per standing orders
· Other duties as assigned
