SC Department of Public Safety Human Services Specialist I (Behavioral Health Assistant -C/Part-Time/DIS) in Richland County, South Carolina

Job Responsibilities

This position is located and worked within the Division of Inpatient Services to include: G. Werber Bryan Psychiatric Hospital, Morris Village, and W.S. Hall Psychiatric Hospital.

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Provides specialized therapeutic nursing care to culturally diverse psychiatric patient populations across the life span based on individualized Nursing Care Plans. Utilizing effective leadership and interpersonal skills, provides guidance and assists other Mental Health Specialists in performing their assigned duties.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

*State Requirement: * Experience in a relevant program area.

Agency Required*_:_* Bachelor's degree in a health related field; or a high school diploma/ GED and five (5) years or more of health care related experience._ _

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds; ability to stand, walk, reach, pull, push, stoop, bend and climb at least two or three flights of stairs. Ability to tolerate noise level and circulate in patient areas for long periods. Must be able to work with repetitive unusual patient behaviors. Must be able to work beyond scheduled hours as required to meet safe staffing standards/ regulatory requirements.
