Staffing includes full-time onsite nursing, dosimetry, and physics. The center is installing a second, new TrueBeam that is expected to be operational in fall of 2020. An additional radiation oncologist is also being recruited to join the practice when both linear accelerators are up and running.

The MUSC flagship campus in Charleston, SC, has additional treatment modalities and technical expertise to fully support the practice in Murrells Inlet. The Charleston campus and nearby Mt. Pleasant satellite host three Varian TrueBeam accelerators, a GammaKnife unit, and a Tomotherapy unit as well as two CT/Simulators, multiple treatment planning platforms, and strong LDR and HDR brachytherapy programs. The Department supports an ACGME-accredited residency program for physicians and a CAMPEP-accredited residency program for physicists. The physician would be afforded the opportunities for career advancement.

Surrounded by Huntington Beach State Park and Litchfield Beach to the south, and Surfside Beach and Myrtle Beach to the north, Murrells Inlet is a beach-lover’s paradise. With the Waccamaw river and National Wildlife Refuge bordering to the west and multiple golf courses in between, ample outdoor activities are just outside your door. Located 1.5 hours north of Charleston, the Grand Strand area is one of the fastest growing regions of the country. Opportunity for growth of the practice as well as great quality of life abound for an experienced general radiation oncologist who would enjoy active support from and involvement with a major tertiary referral center and teaching hospital system, including an NCI-designated cancer center.
