Registered Nurse (RN) - Full Time Temporary - Infusion (Clarendon)
Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Assesses needs of patients as assigned based on data collected through history, observation, physical examination and analysis of diagnostic data. Plans individualized nursing care to meet the holistic age specific needs of patients. Documents within the patient record with accuracy and completeness >95% of the time through the audit process. Provides appropriate nursing care when implementing orders and provides a safe environment for those patients. Using service excellence standards and maintain patient confidentiality.Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families and visitors. Completes all unit based annual training and competencies.Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patient and staff. Demonstrates competency in, but not limited to, the following for Infusion Therapy Services (refer to McLeod Health Nursing Competencies A, B, and C):
Following all new hire expectations for, but not limited to, the Infusion Services department.
Following unit expectations around scheduling.
Identifying resources, understanding the role of the resource(s), and the ability to contact the resource for needs of and for the unit.
Patient Satisfaction Initiatives: Hourly Rounds, GET IT scripting, Service Recovery, and Communication Boards
Performing Patient Safety Initiatives
Carrying out Physician’s Orders
Utilizing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Maintaining Patient Privacy
Providing Patient Education
Utilizes Downtime Toolkit when applicable.
Reconciling and Administering Patient Medication in accordance to policies and procedures.
Utilizing Improve the Process.
Utilizing Infection Control Precautions.
Prevention and care of Hospital Acquired Conditions.
Utilizes standard work in caring for central lines and patients at risk for falls. Contributes to the daily efficient performance of the department, as charge nurse when assigned. Contributes to the overall performance of the department through the precepting of novice employees. Contributes to the department grown and performance through hospital-system initiatives cultivating nursing involved Evidence Based Practices. Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Schedule: Full Time Temporary; 80 hours biweekly.
One year of nursing experience required.
IV access skills required.
- Must possess a valid SC license – RN, BLS.
