Roper St. Francis Healthcare Certified Med Asst Pipeline in Ladson, South Carolina

Provide patient care in outpatient physician practice under the direction of the practicing MD, MLP or RN. Responsible for staging patients in preparation to see providers. Update all patient medications in the medication history at each visit. Perform patient related tasks as directed by practice providers. Facilitate the timely communication of clinical advice to patients electronically or by phone as directed by practice providers. Ensure all needed medical records are available to care teams and providers prior to patient’s office visit. Coordinate with other team members to provide exceptional patient service. Assist with other clinical and clerical duties to ensure optimization of patient experience within the practice. The Medical Assistant should be proficient with HPP (the practice management software) and eClinical Works (the EHR).

The CMA Pipeline position is a full-time, temporary status position which can last up to six months.

All of those hired into a CMA Pipeline position are automatically enrolled in a training program for three weeks with ongoing evaluations to ensure understanding and to address any training needs of the new teammate.

Once the orientation is complete, the CMA Pipeline teammate will be provided assignments in the practices.

If the Pipeline CMA doesn’t secure a practice-based position within the six-month period, the employment will conclude.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Completion of a Medical Assistant Training Program or at least 1 year of medical assisting experience required. Prefer 1 year of clinical experience.

Licensure/Certification: Current Certified Medical Assistant Certificate or Registered Medical Assistant. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. This position is for NEWLY certified medical assistants. It is NOT for future graduates.

Knowledge/Skills: Strong patient-centered focus. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public. Ability to organize and manage competing priorities. Ability to problem solve and show good judgment. Record vital signs, patient’s chief complaint, performing ekg, etc. on all patients at every visit according to practice protocols. Phlebotomy skills preferred. Basic skill with computer keyboard, data entry functions and various software programs, e.g, Word and Internet applications. Knowledge in area of medical terminology. Basic skills with computer keyboard, data entry functions and various software programs i.e.: Word and Internet applications. Clear verbal and written communication skills as well as customer service excellence.

Other: Administer medications, injections and immunizations under supervision of RN, APP or MD
