Responsibilities
We are seeking experienced clinical pharmacy professionals to support and enhance our Pharmacy Practice. We are looking for professionals with experience in the following: drug expense management, 340B optimization, pharmacy enterprise development, and service line integration.
In this Consultant role, you will work extensively with leading clients, utilizing your deep clinical expertise in Pharmacy, business process improvement skills, and business development skills to achieve personal and professional success for our clients.
Specific Responsibilities:
Demonstrate expertise and understanding of end-to-end pharmacy business processes.
Demonstrate expertise in the utilization of pharmaceuticals for the treatment of patient healthcare problems.
Evaluate pharmaceutical distribution processes in the hospital, ambulatory and outpatient settings. Include review of pharmacy technology and automation.
Identify opportunities and implement strategies to improve formulary management, e.g., IV to PO conversion, development of drug guidelines and order sets, standardization.
Manage pharmacy value analysis teams, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee processes, and pharmacy/nursing laison team.
Evaluate and negotiate pharmaceutical contracts such as wholesaler distribution, indigent patient recovery, local drug contracts, technology and automation.
Analyze work flow, staffing patterns, organizational design and impact of technology and automation. Develop and implement initiatives to increase efficiency of the pharmacy workforce.
Identify opportunities to improve pharmacy revenue cycle, e.g., pricing strategies, implementation of 340B pricing program, Medicaid carve-outs, and CDM review.
Work independently in client facing situations and guide others in the design, development, and implementation of innovative pharmacy solutions, or design and implementation of improvements to existing processes in the pharmacy.
Work with teams through the assessment, problem definition, solution development, issue and risk identification/mitigation, and work plan development to ensure quality results that exceed our client’s expectations.
Identify value creation opportunities for a project and manage financial assessment to develop business case and validate alternatives in the pharmacy.
Ability to work collaboratively, in a team-oriented environment to deliver innovative solutions to our clients.
Qualifications
Required:
Experienced Pharmacists with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience
Previous pharmacy management consulting experience with a leading firm is highly desired.
Knowledge of 340B clinical requirements and operations assessment and optimization principals and concepts related to the pharmacy.
Analytics and value assessment experience for business case development and validation of alternative solutions related to the utilization of pharmaceuticals.
Ability to independently perform analyses of complex therapeutic/contracting issues, e.g. colony stimulating factor scenarios, calculates savings, and defends savings analysis to pharmacist peers and physicians.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrate leadership, strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to perform analyses related to opportunities in the pharmacy.
Current licensed Pharmacist is required, PharmD preferred.
Candidates must be open to 75% travel nationally.
Preferred
Management consulting experience with mid to large size firm
Masters degree in Business or Health
