Job Summary: The Department of Psychiatry is recruiting for a Program Assistant in the Division of Addiction Sciences. This individual will work across a range of studies (approx 3-5), across a range of designs (usually human lab studies and clinical trials), working to screen, consent, interview and enter data directly for and from community volunteers (smokers). The position involves a large portion of participant interactions: scheduling, communications, assessments, and more. The individual will learn to successfully navigate large and complex databases and perform basic data queries.

Job Duties:

  • 30% - Will conduct structured interviews of study participants, ranging 15-30 minutes each, across a range of large scale, remote clinical trials. - (Essential)

  • 25% - Responsible for lab sessions for tobacco product testing, including setup and calibration of e-cigarette devices (flavors, power settings), and administration of lab-based tasks (reinforcement, product preference tasks). - (Essential)

  • 10% - Maintaining up to date knowledge of research studies. - (Essential)

  • 10% - Assists with IRB documentation, both initial submissions and ongoing reviews. - (Essential)

  • 10% - Responsible for data management, including set-up and maintenance of research databases. - (Essential)

  • 10% - Responsible for ) collection of human biospecimens (breath and urine samples). - (Essential)

  • 5% - All other minor duties as needed - (Essential)

Preferred Experience & Additional Skills: A Bachelor’s degree and two years relevant research experience

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A high school diploma and two years relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
