Job summary: The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an academically-oriented Hematopathologist with 0 to 5 years of experience. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.Along with the Director of Hematopathology, this faculty member will participate in a busy hematology laboratory service, which includes sections for body fluids analysis, coagulation and bone marrow and lymph node diagnostic services. The faculty member should also be proficient in the use of flow cytometry, cytogenetic, and molecular techniques employed in the clinical work-up of cases. The preferred candidate will have experience in fostering collaborative relationships with clinicians and researchers as well as serving as a resource to technologists at the bench. This individual will instruct medical students, participate in the training of pathology residents and hematology fellows, and actively participate in academic mission of the NCI-designed Hollings Cancer Center adult and pediatric hematology malignancy and bone marrow transplant programs. The relative percent effort for research, teaching, administrative duties, and patient care responsibilities will be tailored to the successful applicant’s experience and career goals. The Hematopathology Division offers an ACGME-accredited fellowship training program in Hematopathology. The Department also offers an ACGME-accredited fellowship training program in Molecular Genetic Pathology.
Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 0: Commensurate with experience.
