Job summary: The Chief of the Mental Health Integrated Center for Clinical Excellence reports to the Chief Physician Executive of MUSC Health and works in close collaboration with other MUSC Health leaders including the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer. As Vice Chair, this position also reports to the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The ICCE Chief Is expected to provide at least 75 percent administrative time in the role devoted to strategic leadership and administrative activities. Reporting to this position is a dedicated business manager and a Mental Health ICCE administrator, a senior level administrative counterpart to the ICCE Chief.

The ICCE Chief will oversee and direct the clinical activities of the department working with a leadership team from MUSC Health and will be accountable for the evolution and Implementation of Mental Health services across the health system. The Vice Chair will work to integrate the academic missions of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences so that clinical services support the teaching and research missions of the department, while the academic activities of the department support cutting­edge, effective clinical programs.

This role provides strategic oversight and leadership to all behavioral health services throughout MUSC Health. They will lead strategic and operational objectives across the MUSC Health system to manage behavioral health service delivery. The Incumbent will collaborate with executive leadership on the development of infrastructure supporting the development of a behavioral health service line, health system operations, workforce development, internal and external stakeholder partnerships, financial planning, budgeting, policy-making and administration.

Integral to the governance framework of the ICCE model is the alignment of authority and accountability. The Chief of Mental Health ICCE will have the ability to direct and influence the business unit in a meaningful way and will be held accountable for associated metrics that assess not only the internal performance of the ICCE, but also Its ability to efficiently support the delivery of high quality care across other ICCEs. The ICCE Chief and Vice Chair also acts as the division leader for the Psychiatry Hospitalists Division.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 0: Commensurate with experience.
