Sodexo is seeking an Inpatient Clinical Nutrition Manager with adult inpatient clinical and leadership experience to join their team at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), an 850 bed Level I trauma center/teaching hospital located in beautiful Charleston, SC.
The Inpatient Clinical Nutrition Manager provides supervision of nutrition care for adult inpatients, including numerous specialty areas, at the University Hospital, Ashley River Tower, and Institute of Psychiatry.
Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising competency of the operations of the adult inpatient Registered Dietitian (RD) staff (13 FTEs) at the University Hospital, Ashley River Tower, and Institute of Psychiatry.
Evaluating applicants, scheduling and interviewing candidates, and approving final selection of all adult inpatient RD staff based on required job standards and competencies; orientation of new staff members.
Oversee work of the adult inpatient RD staff in terms of their productivity, clinical care, and outcomes, as well as clinical documentation and compliance with organizational goal setting.
Oversee compliance outlined in clinical nutrition policies and hospital policies; review and update policies and procedures.
Positively interact with hospital management and professional staff, promoting excellence in service and clinical evidence-based professional standards for nutritional care.
Collaborate with Patient Services General Managers to ensure food service operations are in compliance with clinical expectations and contractual requirements, especially as it relates to standardized recipes and timely delivery of food, nourishments, and enteral nutrition impacting clinical nutritional care.
Responsible for co-chairing the Adult Nutrition Therapy Committee with the Medical Director, and representing adult inpatient clinical nutrition services on other hospital committees (Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Accreditation/Regulatory Committee, Hospital Diabetes Task Force).
Collaborate with Adult Outpatient and Pediatric Clinical Nutrition Managers.
Participate in performance improvement activities.
Two years management experience with demonstrated leadership skills to manage and develop clinical staff.
Master’s degree preferred.
Registration with Commission on Dietetic Registration.
South Carolina licensure prior to hire date.

Functions as the in-unit lead Clinical leader for a large account, system or multiple accounts under the same contract or multiple contracts in a defined region.

-Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as Sodexo/client policies and procedures (e.g. Health Dept., HIPAA/Privacy Act, Joint Commission, quality assurance, safety, operations, and personnel).
-Assists in the development of new business service(s) for the client, regional or national initiatives, projects, and implements the service program(s).
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian.
