SC Department of Public Safety LPN/Med Tech in Beaufort County, South Carolina
Job Responsibilities
Completes Patients Assistance Program applications and documentation for Center clients. Includes coordination with prescribers, completion and filing of all relevant documentation, communication with pharmaceutical companies, coordination with Center clinicians and clinical support staff.
Performs all activities necessary to establish and maintain accurate, comprehensive storage, handling, and control of all PAP medications. Includes receipt, unpacking, labeling, logging, tracking, inventorying of PAP medications.
Under direction of Center prescribers, performs prior authorization process(es) for client prescriptions. Includes review of SCRIPTS system as directed/indicated.
Performs assigned nursing duties within scope of practice for LPN in SCDMH CECMHC; Adheres to Center, DMH and State Corporate Compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
Documents information in client medical records in accordance with CECMHC, SCDMH standards/policies/procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

State: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Licensure as an LPN by the SC Board of Nursing
DMH: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Licensure as an LPN by the SC Board of Nursing

What knowledge, skills, and abilities are needed by an employee upon entry on this job including any special certification or license? Knowledge of practical nursing procedures. Knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene, basic health and safety practices. Knowledge of the human anatomy. Ability to make accurate technical and physical observations of patients. Ability to accurately record observations. Describe the guidelines and supervision an employee receives to do this job, including the employee's independence and discretion. Annual evaluations will be written and in-service training will be provided as approved by supervisor. Employee will receive supervision and training in the community mental health settings as needed. Consultation by mental health professional and psychiatric staff will be available. Coastal Empire CMHC is an approved site for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC), which offers student loan repayment of up to $30,000.00 to employees of NHSC - approved sites. You must be a US Citizen, you must be licensed to practice independently in the state where you are hired, and you must have unpaid government or commercial school loans.
