AnMed Health CV Sonographer in Anderson, South Carolina
The CV Sonographer is responsible for performing cardiovascular ultrasound procedures (Vascular, echo, and/or both based on technologist's experience and registries) on patients of every age utilizing IAC (ICAEL/ICAVL) requirements based on protocols from ASE and the Society of Vascular ultrasound and best practices to ensure high quality imaging. Vascular and echo training, experience and registies required.
This position requires the technologist to work at various AnMed locations, and provide call coverage on a rotational basis with weekend and holiday work required.
The technologist is also responsible for providing patient care for the patient who is undergoing non-invasive procedures in the Non-Invasive Cardiology imaging areas pre, during, and post procedure. This person is also responsible for assisting physicians and must be knowledgeable in all equipment and supplies that are used in the department. It is the responsibility of the CV Sonographer to notify the interpreting physician of any critical values immediately post procedure and for communicating and documenting the procedure related information of the procedure into the EPIC Cardiology system. The sonographer must be knowledgeable in acquisition and storage of images and are also responsible for the operation of ultrasound equipment and patient safety. The sonographer contributes to the excellence of care by utilizing the mission, vision and building blocks to guide them. They recognize themselves as an important part of a team in providing excellent care to the patient.
Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology. Experience is a plus but new graduates will be considered. At least 2-3 years of experience working in a fast paced hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
Registry required. Registries include: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), RVT, RCS, RDCS, and/or ARRT certification. Clinical experience or instruction in non-invasive cardiovascular imaging and experience in a non-invasive cardiovascular (vascular and echo experience a strong plus) lab preferred. Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and produce quality images and store and retrieve digital images as required.
